ステージのボス！あきれるぐらいの巨大さと、恐ろしいくらい速いモーションは、
実際に見るまで信じられまい。

Xi tiger is the one that stands still inside a thunder.
The moment when it flashes back (Note: referring to the scene where xi tiger is hit by a thunder and flashes) is the best of all frames. It makes me want to turn BE mega (Beep megadrive magazine) into a video medium and show it to you, that footwork, that lightness of movement. Ahh, it’s such a shame to show it to you only in a still image!

Would you like to have your designed multi-junction character appear in Alien Soldier? It’s planned to have Seven Force (the name is also Kaede) appearance in this game as well, and we will select one of the transformations to be one that comes out of a public contest among our readers. There is no need to design the transformation to be human shaped like in the example shown to the right, I only ask you for something with a lot of personality!

開発者からのお願いかも。
掟（おきて）其の一、パーツは合計25個まで（25個以下でも可）。
掟其の二、本体（D)は核となるパーツなので必ず1個使用する。
1個以上は使用不可。それ以外のパーツには使用回数の制限なし
（ただし掟其の一に準ずる）。
Items to pay attention while crafting the design pattern.
It’s more like a favor asked from the developer.
Rule #1, use no more than 25 pieces (less than 25 pieces is fine as well).
Rule #2, the main body (D) is the core part so make sure to use 1 of it. It’s not possible to use more than 1 piece of it. Besides that piece, for the rest of them there is no limit on the number of times they can be used (just make sure to follow along rule #1).

つまり頭が7個あったり、球のパーツだけで構成されていてもよい。逆に
使わないパーツがあってもOK。また、矢印が記入してあるパーツは
回転可能だ。左右逆向きにしても構わない。
構成図を参考にされたし。
掟其の三、パーツサイズの比率に図に準ずる。要は1つのパーツだけ
巨大化させたり縮小させてはイカンということ。ただ、極端に違わなければ、
厳密に合わせる必要はない。
それから、余裕があったら変形の名称と特徴、攻撃方法も添えてもらえれば
うれしい。
In short, the design can be composed by having only 7 head parts of only ball-shaped pieces. In other sense, it’s also ok to have pieces shown above not used. Also, the pieces that have an arrow can be rotated.
It’s fine to have them facing left/right up or down.
You can look as a reference the completed design above.
Rule #3, follow the size ration given by the image above. The point is not to have a piece being over sized or shrinked when compared to the others. If the pieces are not that far away from each other, there is no need to have them extremely coupled to each other.
If you have some extra time, i’d be happy if you add the name of the transformation, its characteristics and attack patterns.

最大256人まで対戦可能。。。。」だ～～～～没だボツ！こんなもん書いているヒマあったら仕事しろ！」。斬新で面白いのになぁ、この「ポケベルバトラー」。。。。。

Answer (konig ishida): after reading this I came up with an idea about specifications for the innovative next generation game console. I’ll write a project proposal for it!
Ah boss! (company boss), read this.

Alien Soldier preview as featured in Beep! Megadrive Magazine (Sept-Oct 1994) Page 1

Well, I decided to take a closer look to the tweet mentioned at the bottom of this post (original source) and translate it so more people are aware of the beginnings of the fabulous Alien Soldier. There are four pages of this beep magazine feature but so far I’ve just been able to tackle the first one. I’ll be releasing the translations for the other pages soon.

このゲームは、各ステージに10体前後の中ボス・大ボスが現れるという、とてつもない

Do you remember the euphoria that made you feel like your blood was boiling when you played
treasure’s breakthrough Gunstar Heroes?
Yes, it has been one year since then and treasure has announced the production of an existance of
shooting action. This game has around 10 middle/big bosses in each stage with unbelievable nonstop
action, moreover all of the enemies show a biological(natural) movement that resembles that of seven force’s.
Due to the result of having the main character and the enemies speed processing being pushed to the limit, in exchange it’s not possible to have 2 players playing at the same time, anyway this is a trivial matter when it’s compared to this power!

Multi-joint characters that move artistically!

This time a lot of multi-jointed characters like Seven force, who caused a huge impact on us, will make an appearance.
Having way more encounters with middle size bosses than with popcorn enemies breaks all conventions, which leave us with only one option: take our hats off.
Besides this, the content is not a cheap imitation of gunstar heroes, it containts a great attitude towards opening new horizons in the crazy shooting world.

そこは超遺伝子工学によって創られた「改造生物」と亜人類が共存する世界だ。
主人公のイプシロン2は、外宇宙人による陰謀で闘争の時代に突入した亜地球で、ひたすら戦う鳥人なのである。
Alien Soldier’s stage is set at the end of the 20th century at the Semi-earth.
It’s a world where enhanced organisms built by super genetic engineering and Semi-humans co-exist.

基本ショットはバルカン、ホーミング、レーザー、フレームの４種類。生物系はフレーム、機械系はレーザーと、
敵の形態に合わせて選択する。
There are four basic shoot: Vulcan, Homing, Laser and Flame. You should choose your weapon depending on the enemy’s type: for living-type enemies = flame, and for the machine-type = laser.

Epsilon 2 can turn himself upside down and stand on the ceiling.

あつはなつい。「とれじゃあふぁくとりぃ」名産の不人気コーナー「ひとりでできないもん」消滅の裏では、俺の自殺説とか異星人にアブダクティされて
殺されたとか不穏な噂が登っては揮発。生存しているよ。メガドラが殺させねえよ。ところで「エイリアンソルジャー」がようやく御天道様の下に
解禁だ。しかしまだ子断を許さぬ怪しいゲーム。安心してはいけない。自慢じゃねえが、月単位でコロコロ企画が変化していく様にチーム員一堂が激怒、
まるで日本の茶番政権だねと、皆で大笑いしたっけ。高血圧酒飲み社長も本気で怒って中指と人指しの指の間に鉛筆挟んでギュウギュウ。
さて本題、俺は信望のないチームリーダーだ。半分おかしくなっている納期間際でも平気で企画変更すっかも。ゲーム作りニャリ方もクソもねぇ。
より面白ぇゲームで遊びてぇんだよ俺は。他人のゲームがネコの額ほど面白いもんだから最近金が財布の中で青徴生えた。
だからってこの「AS」がスッゲー面白いかというと、そーはイカン。プログラムは減法スッゲーけどゲームはそこそこ。。。。これでもいい
けど俺はヤダ。鬼畜呼ばわりされても大幅修正かけるかも。今度こそクビかも。俺は純愛で真剣で一生捧げてもいいっつーゲームを目指している。
悪いけど自分のことしか考えないやつなのでユーザー不在で行く。怒んな。これで最後だ。

The summer is hot. Behind the extinction of [I can’t do it by myself] Treasure factory’s corner of unpopular special products there are restlessness rumours, like a theory claiming I commited suicide or that I was abducted by aliens and got killed. I exist! I won’t let the megadrive be killed. By the way, God has finally lifted the ban on Alien Soldier. But it’s still a weird and unpredictable game. We can’t feel at ease. It’s not to boast but it’s like the game planning keeps changing in a monthly basis, so the team members get super mad at once… I think we all laughed a lot when we realized that this resembles a political farce. Our high blood pressure and alcohol drinker CEO got seriously mad and was making a pencil crack using his index and middle fingers.
Anyway, let me get to the point. I am the team leader with no confidence. I might change the game planning with no problem even at the brink of the already crazy delivery date. That’s no f*cking way to make a game. I just want to play a more interesting game.
Lately other people’s games are not interesting, the money inside my wallet has started to grow some mold.
And if I’m asked if that’s the reason why [AS (Alien Soldier)] is a super interesting game, well it’s not like that. «The program optimization is amazing but the game is not that good…» it could be ok but I don’t like that. Even if i’m called «Demon» I might ask for a major change/revision. This time I could get fired. I’m trying to make a game that I could love purely and give all my life to. I’m sorry but I’m just thinking about myself so I’m going for it, even with no users (players). Don’t get mad. This is the last time.

Xenoblade 2 Original Soundtrack [Mitsuda’s Diary translation]

皆様、大変お待たせいたしました。
2018年5月23日にXenoblade 2 Original Soundtrackが
発売されることになりました！！
詳しくは任天堂さんのプロダクションノートを
ご覧いただければと思います。
（すでに限定版は完売したのかな？）
ともあれ、この日記では別の角度からの
お話を少ししたいと思います。

Hello all, we’ve made you wait for a long time.
It has come to be that the Xenoblade 2 soundtrack will be released on May 23rd of 2018!!!
For the details please take a look at the Nintendo production note.
(I guess if the limited edition is already sold out?)
But well, in this note I would like to talk about this from another perspective.

まず今回なにが大変だったかといいますと、
曲数とそれに伴うトータルタイムでした。
ジングルまでいれるとCD６枚組。
正直、６枚のCDケースというものがなく、
特別仕様になってしまうこと（通常版としても）。
これが一つ。

First of all, talking about the difficulties of the process one would be the number of songs and the total time that is conveyed by those. By inserting even the jingle we have a collection of 6 CDs.
Additionally, there is the fact that there is no normal CD case per CD but a special design was done for this collection (even for the normal edition one).
This also counts as one of the difficulties.

もう一つは、制作費。
６枚分のマスタリング代だけでかなりの予算がかかります。
また、楽曲のタイトルや曲順、デザイン、原盤に関する契約
その全てをまとめるだけで何ヵ月も掛りました。
（その他、色々な問題もおきたんですけどね・・・苦笑）
実際、ゲームが発売される前から動いていたのにも関わらず、
最速で５月発売となってしまいました。
お待ちいただいたファンの皆さんには
本当に申し訳なかったと思います。

Another one would be the production cost.
Just for the mastering cost of 6 CDs takes a lot of budget.
Also just for the the title of each melody, the order of them, the design and the contract regarding the master recording took several months.
(There were also several other problems during the process…hehe).
In fact, even though we were working on the production of the soundtrack before the game release, the fastest release date that we could have was may.
I’m very sorry to make all the fans wait so long.

さて話しは少し変わりますが僕には2つの顔があります。
プロキオン・スタジオの社長としての顔。
もう一つは作家としての顔。
どちらも自分にとっては大切なものですが、
この2つは真逆のベクトルを持っています。
言ってしまえば、経営者とクリエイターという関係で
これは一生相いれないものなのです。
（分かる人にはわかると思います）
よく、皆さんから両方出来るね・・・と言われますが！

Well, now I’ll talk a little bit about another related topic: I have two faces.
Procyon Studio’s (company) president.
And the other one is being an artist.
Both of them are really important for me but they also have exactly the opposite vector to each other. Putting this in other words, it’s like a relationship between a manager and a creator which is something that never matches.
(I think some people can comprehend this well)
Even though I’m always told by others «you do both really well!»

今回、会社の経営者から考えた場合、
まともな経営者なら100%サントラは
発売されなかったでしょう。
（チープな簡易版でよければなんとか・・・
といった感じでしょうが）
定価　−　原価　=　売上
この計算が完全に破綻していたからです。
USB仕様のものはお値段が高くなってしまいましたが、
これでも全く採算がとれない状態でした。
え〜そんなことないでしょう？と思われるかもしれませんが
原価というのは単純にUSB代、箱代、印刷代、
原盤使用料だけではないのです。
今回、サントラをつくるにあたり、多くの人に
ご協力いただきました。
その方たちの時間はタダじゃありません。
また、弊社スタッフも何ヵ月も動きまくって
やっと形になるのです。
そのスタッフの人件費、時間的拘束を考えると
とても採算が取れる商品ではないのです。
うちの会社は請負いが基本で、商品を作るのがメインでは
ありませんので、そこまでスタッフを拘束されてしまうのは
本末転倒なわけです。
にも関わらず、このような大胆な仕様で発売できるのは
自社レーベルであること、そして、
絶対にいいものにする、というスタッフの意気込みでした。
そんなスタッフのパワーに負けてサントラの発売を
社長として許可してしまいました。

This time, in the case of thinking as a company’s manager,
and if this manager is a regular one, then the 100% of the soundtrack wouldn’t be released.
(If it’s a cheap and simple version then it might make sense…..)

And this is because when facing the release of the complete soundtrack, the above calculation was completely broken.
The USB version’s price came to be really high but even with this we faced the situation of not making any profit.
Maybe some people think something like: «ehhhh- that’s nonsense!»
But the total cost it’s not just about the USB price, the box, the printing and the fee for using the master recording.
For this soundtrack a lot of people made efforts to complete it.
The time of this number of people it’s of course not free.
The staff of the company worked for several months as well and finally the product came to be. By thinking about the staff costs, and the time constraint, this is not a product from which a lot of profit can be made.
Our company basically works by contract, and our main work is not to build a product, so putting this restrictions to the staff is basically reversing the logical order of the process.

Easy network automation with Ansible & Expect

These days I’ve been testing different things at work related to network automation. Most of the development that I’ve done is related to Junos platforms, netconf and ansible. It’s been really fun to learn different things such as Jinja2/Yaml/Netconf/XML(Path)/Networkx….
I see all of these things like lego blocks that are just waiting to be assembled into something bigger and actually pretty powerful.

But well, as an introduction to a series of posts that I’ll try to do soon related to network automation, let me introduce a really humble approach to a well-known tool (expect) and its integration with Ansible.

The task is basically to log into several hosts and execute a series of ‘show’ commands to retrieve some information.
(I’ve seen documentation related with an expect module integrated already on Ansible but what I’m trying to do here is to show how to run a script via Ansible and by doing so, make it multi-threading).

First, we have a simple Expect script.
We pass 3 variables via command line:
1.- Ip address of the host
2.- Command list file
3.- Host name (for log file naming purposes)

I named the expect script ‘get_commands.expect’ (it will be referenced by Ansible below).

The idea for passing commands via the for loop came from here

We could have a nested ‘for’ referencing each target host pulled from another file (like in the link). But if we do this, we would be having the telnet session built sequentially for each of the hosts, by this I mean that we would have to wait for the commands to be executed at one host before being able to move to the next host and get the info.

Instead of that, we use ansible to do the multi-threading work for us, so we can log into all the target hosts at once and extract the necessary information given by the commands defined by a command list file:

For this to work we also need the hosts file to have the group named [target_hosts] and the necessary login information for each target.
We need to have a .txt including the show commands as well.
For example, the command_list.txt (referenced inside the ansible playbook and passed as an argument to the expect script as {{ commands }}) could have the next commands:

{{ log_dir }} is defined inside the group_vars yml file. This is useful to define the same directory to keep all the log files for each router.

When we pass this as an argument to the expect script and the other necessary info to make the telnet sessions, then the magic occurs.

I’ll be publishing more and more regarding these topics, especially regarding netconf and pyez (a library written in python released by Juniper to make automation easier), so keep in touch.

Junos configuration parser

Hola, después de tanto tiempo….

Por cierta cuestión en el trabajo por fin me di el tiempo de crear una herramienta para traducir formatos de configuración Juniper (JUNOS).

Para probar los resultados de esto, pongo el siguiente ejemplo de configuración que se quiere traducir de formato jerárquico a formato ‘set command’ de Junos.

Del pasar del tiempo y el estado actual de las cosas (Agosto 2015)

Hola, tiene mucho tiempo que no paso a saludar.

Sigo trabajando como ingeniero en una empresa bastante grande de este país. El reto intelectual es aún muy interesante y complejo. Laboro como responsable del «Backbone» del servicio de proveedor de internet que tiene la empresa. He tenido que estudiar muchísimo desde que entré y creo que me ha ayudado  crecer bastante como profesional. También está la constante barrera del idioma que aunque al principio parecía una locura trabajar en japonés, todos los días, en todos los aspectos (dado que todos alrededor mío son japoneses), pues he salido adelante de cierta forma hasta ahora.

Profesionalmente hasta ahí dejo la plática. Personalmente es donde las cosas no van bien, pero bueno, estoy bastante acostumbrado a eso ya de tiempo atrás. Cuando me preguntan si planeo quedarme aquí el resto de mi vida mi respuesta inmediata es: por supuesto que no. Aún tengo el detalle de que construir nuevas amistades aquí es bastante difícil, digo está la barrera del idioma por supuesto, pero sobre todo, la manera de vivir y hacer las cosas. Aquí a la gente le traba tener agendada su vida, todos los días tienen planeado qué van a hacer, a qué hora, y con quien. Yo en realidad me he negado a hacer tal cosa por el simple principio de que me es más natural y hasta cierto punto «humano» no controlar tanto mi vida. No me gusta tratar de controlar tanto las cosas siendo que fundamentalmente ni siquiera debería ser tan complejo poder verse con «alguien» para hacer «algo». Desde cierto evento que pasó este año por ahí de febrero, decidí buscar más a la gente y dejar de esperar a que la gente venga a buscarme. No recuerdo haber hecho ese esfuerzo tanto ni cuando viví en el (maravilloso) Distrito Federal hace ya unos 4 años. Medio funcionó por un periodo y hasta tuve citas con ciertas personas (lo cual no arrojó algún resultado positivo de hecho….) y todo eso. Pero al final siento que no avanzó mucho la situación a pesar de haber cambiado la táctica del cómo aproximarme a las relaciones personales últimamente. Pero bueno, también dentro de estos meses me ha tocado salir con amantes de un personaje de anime (tanto que se quieren casar, literalmente), con una chica de la provincia de Japón de donde dicen que son las más bonitas, y con una chica que conocí en el trabajo que también fue medio raro (sobre todo la interacción a distancia por mensajes).

Tratando de dejar un poco atrás eso, también estas semanas me han pasado buenas cosas: regresé a la costumbre de ir a conciertos de bandas indie locales. Sabrán ustedes que mi banda favorita es クウチュウ戦:

Tenía mucho tiempo de no ir, casi casi desde un poco antes de que entrase a trabajar. Creo que dejar de ir a este tipo de conciertos fue un golpe fuerte a mi estabilidad en este lugar. En realidad me traba mucho la música y descubrir nueva siempre es maravilloso. Fui a ver a クウチュウ戦 hace unas dos semanas y tocaban junto con カラスは真っ白 que también traen buena onda. Fui después del trabajo (que estos días tengo que estar en chiba todos los días por tópicos interesantes que ojalá tenga oportunidad de escribir en otra ocasión próxima) entonces estaba algo cansado pero la verdad es que valió mucho la pena porque me recordó el amor que le tengo a esos conciertos pequeños de bandas no tan populares (aún).

Siguiendo en la línea de las cosas buenas, el viernes me invitaron al cine (mi amiga «momo») para ver una película argentina. No tenía idea de qué trataba ni nada, solo fui porque pues quería hacer algo el viernes en la noche y listo. La película fue muy sorprendente, se llama relatos salvajes y trata de múltiples historias cortas totalmente separadas unas de otras, casi como cuentos, en lo que lo único que tienen en común es la locura que atañe a uno o varios personajes que son el principal de cada historia. Casi siempre terminaban en algún asesinato o alguien loco de furia o celos, pero la mejor historia para mi fue la última donde presentaban a una pareja de casados en su fiesta de matrimonio (esa donde invitan a toda la familia y amigos a un salón grande y ponen música para que todos bailen y tomen-coman) y la chica se daba cuenta que su nuevo esposo la había estado engañando con otra «mina» que estaba presente en la fiesta. Qué huevos del wey. Lo maravilloso fue la frenética locura que ataca a la chica en esa situación, los diálogos cuando lo afronta, en la azotea del edificio donde se lleva acabo la fiesta, después de escapar de esta corriendo, son simplemente maravillosos. Las amenazas de cómo va a comportarse en su matrimonio porque ha decidido no pedir el divorcio inmediato sino hacer de la vida del nuevo cónyuge lo más miserable posible en todo aspecto posible, pinta como una venganza encantadora.

Pero bueno, lo mejor en realidad fue darme cuenta lo mucho que extraño el español y poder también escuchar el bonito acento argentino por más de una hora continua. Después fuimos a cenar hamburguesas y pues así terminó la noche.

Ayer (sábado) fui a un mini concierto del vocalista de クウチュウ戦 en un bar de un hostal en Asakusa. La verdad es que la voz de ese tipo me gusta mucho y también admiro como toca la guitarra. Lo chido es que de vez en cuando platicamos entre inglés y japonés y la verdad es que el wey es bastante entretenido. Le pedí que cantara una rola y me cumplió el favor. No cantó toda la canción pero sí un pedacito de ella, medio improvisando, porque no la había preparado para esa noche. Después del concierto platicamos de nuevo y tomamos. También conocí a una chica española y me recordó de nuevo lo mucho que extraño hablar español. Aunque no soy nada fan de cómo hablan los españoles, la verdad es que la chica era muy buena onda y platicamos un buen rato. Lástima que en la borrachera que siguió después del concierto en cierto bar en higashi shinjuku, perdí el contacto que me escribió en mi celular (quién sabe cómo o dónde lo borré).

Pero bueno hasta aquí este escrito y espero poder contar más cosas buenas que malas y sobre todo ser un poco más regular en esto de escribir por estos lares. Creo que también cuenta como una buena terapia para uno mismo. Por cierto, regreso a México en un mes (de vacaciones) y eso me tiene bastante emocionado 🙂

Búsqueda de trabajo en Japón 就職活動

Este año me tocó realizar el esfuerzo de buscar trabajo en Japón. Dado que estudio una maestría aquí (en Tokio) y me gradúo el año que viene, es éste el año y el periodo en que debía hacerlo. Traté de aprovechar el sistema de «Recién graduado» que te permite «usar» el nombre de tu escuela (su prestigio) para que te ayude un poco en la búsqueda de un empleo.

En Japón hay dos formas (hasta donde sé) de buscar trabajo:

1.- «Recién graduado»: un año antes de tu graduación, ya sea de una carrera o de una maestría/doctorado es el periodo donde debes comenzar tus aplicaciones a las empresas. Lo que se busca es una «promesa de trabajo» para que cuando uno se gradúe ya tenga un trabajo asegurado.

2.- «Experiencia Laboral»: básicamente es el camino para la gente que ya tiene un trayecto laboral caminado.

En mi caso, dado que tengo menos de un año de experiencia laboral en México, decidí aprovechar el sistema de recién graduado y aplicar por esa vía.

Una de las cosas que noté en la gente de aquí (sobre todo de los que no estudian un posgrado) es que aplican a cuanta empresa puedan, ¡Pueden llegar a aplicar hasta 100 empresas a la vez! En mi caso, fueron 5 empresas a las que apliqué.

Trataré de narrar el flujo de los procesos, que en general, son bastante similares.

1.- Entry Sheet (Carta de Motivos): Siendo la primera etapa, es lógico que las empresas quieren filtrar la mayor cantidad de gente posible a partir de ésta papelería. Las preguntas generalmente van muy enfocadas al desarrollo personal e individual del sujeto, por ejemplo: «¿Qué fue lo que más trabajo te costó superar durante tus estudios y cómo lo superaste?», «Relata un momento en donde hayas puesto a trabajar tu capacidad de liderazgo ante un grupo o similares», «¿Cuál es tu estrategia para realizar una búsqueda de trabajo exitosa?», «¿Por qué quieres trabajar en nuestra empresa?», «¿Cuál es tu proyecto de investigación para tu tésis?», y un gran etc.

Lo que quieren saber es que puedes ser líder pero sobre todo que eres DIFERENTE a los demás y que sabes lo que quieres hacer y por donde ir.

2.- Exámenes de aptitud: Se aplica generalmente uno llamado SPI que tiene 2 partes, la de idioma nacional (japonés) que siendo extranjero resulta virtualmente imposible por el elevado nivel que éste exámen posee, y el exámen de conocimientos básicos y pensamiento lógico. Como sabía que iba a ser muy complicado pasar la parte del idioma, basé todo mi empeño en la parte de pensamiento lógico y hasta compré un libro que me sirvió muchísimo para darme una idea del tipo de problemas que podrían venir en el exámen SPI2 . Los problemas no son muy complicados, lo complicado es el periodo de tiempo que se le da a uno para resolver cada problema y la cantidad de problemas que son. En promedio dan 1 minuto por problema, entonces se tiene que llevar una estrategia muy bien planeada; comprar ese libro es la mejor opción.

3.- Discusiones Grupales: ÉSTA es la parte más difícil en mi opinión, siendo uno extranjero y no nativo del idioma se encuentra con la desventaja de tener que aplicar tu japonés de la manera más correcta posible, y no nada más eso, el detalle de dar ideas que tengan lógica con lo que sea que la discusión se trate.

Te sientan en una mesa con 6,7 u 8 personas (todos candidatos) y te dan un tópico al azar (la empresa no da pistas ni nada de sobre qué puede ser el tópico a discutir hasta el día en el que te sientan en esa mesa con las demás personas). Reparten hojas a cada participante que contiene el tema y le dan 5 minutos a uno para analizarlo y sacar conclusiones personales. Después, dan un tiempo determinado (de 40 a 50 minutos) para discutir con tus compañeros de mesa sobre el tópico y tratar de formular una conclusión en conjunto. Depende de la empresa, pero hay unas que te piden que aparte de la discusión que te tienes que echar, que presentes las conclusiones en una lámina escrita por los participantes del grupo. Para esta mini-presentación se otorgan 2-3 minutos, que deben ser tomados de los minutos establecidos al principio de la sesión (40 ó 50). Los roles de cada persona y la manera en cómo se va a discutir no está establecida, todo se tiene que decidir en conjunto. Todo esto es observado por gente de la compañía que analiza y juzga a cada persona del grupo en todo momento.

Los puntos importantes son tu interacción con los demás (si les pones atención adecuadamente y el cómo rechazas o apoyas una idea de un compañero), tu nivel de participación (importantísimo) y que tus ideas tengan lógica y sean buenas en general.

Como comentario personal: fallé 2 de 3 discusiones grupales y fueron muy, muy difíciles. Sin embargo, haber pasado una me dice que sortear este paso no es imposible.

Entrevistas: Dependiendo de la compañía es el número de entrevistas que uno debe pasar. En mi experiencia, mínimo son 2 máximo hasta 4, la media es 3. Respecto a la etapa de entrevista en la que uno se encuentre (1, 2 o 3) es el nivel de rango de la persona que le van a poner enfrente. En la primera entrevista de 2 empresas me pusieron ingenieros del área de la empresa a la que estaba aplicando. Te preguntan sobre lo que escribiste en la carta de motivos y detalles más minuciosos sobre la misma.

Aquí lo importante es haber preparado la entrevista a partir de una estrategia personal, ya sea practicando con amigos (japoneses) con antelación o simplemente tratando de formar un discurso a través de «palabras clave» que es lo que yo hice. En vez de memorizar completamente una respuesta a cierta pregunta, lo que hice fue pensar palabras claves que podrían ayudarme a contestar cada pregunta y así cuando salía esa pregunta en la entrevista pues ya sabía más o menos lo que iba a contestar, teniendo la flexibilidad de no estar atado a cientos de palabras que se pudieron haber preparado en forma de discurso para contestar. Es lógico saber que aquí el nivel de japonés que se pide es bastante alto, sin embargo, la tensión es mucho menos que en el paso de la discusión grupal, por el hecho de que es solo una persona (o dos) las que te están entrevistando y el tiempo pues no está limitado, depende de ellos y de las preguntas que te quieran hacer.

En la etapa 2 de entrevistas te ponen a gente más especializada en la rama que estás aplicando y con mucho más experiencia, te preguntan más sobre por qué elegiste aplicar para esa empresa y no para el competidor, quieren ver que tienes un interés genuino acerca de la empresa.

La última fase ya incluye a una persona de rango mucho más alto que los anteriores y generalmente a una persona de recursos humanos, esto es para asegurarse que quieren contratarte. Lo importante es que se queden con la idea de que eres el tipo de persona con la que quieren verse rodeados todos los días, profesional y personalmente. Y sobre todo el hecho de que tienes que hacerles saber con seguridad que no te vas a ir de regreso a tu país a la primera oportunidad que tengas, que puedes ser un miembro integro de la sociedad japonesa y que en general disfrutas de verdad vivir en este lugar.

(Muy) Afortunadamente y con mucho esfuerzo salí avante con esta tarea y a partir del año que viene (2014) entraré a una empresa que ha decidido darme la oportunidad de trabajar con ellos. La verdad es que el resultado me tiene muy satisfecho y sobre todo, contento. Comentarios más personales y sobre todo impresiones sobre todo esto, vendrán en una entrada más adelante. Ojalá esta información le sea útil a alguien 🙂

Mi concepto de vida….

Con destellos de luz que parecen salir de su cuerpo, que en realidad son despedidos por lámparas de iluminación que él mismo sostiene para «llenar a la gente de vida», Cedric Bixler-Zavala deja notar el hecho de que emana una energía vital inconmensurable, concentrada en sus movimientos aleatorios y por lo mismo perfectos.
La vida (para mi) es una sucesión de momentos donde hay que buscar sentirse así: «vivo». No se trata de solo respirar y poder trasladarse de un lugar a otro diariamente. Tampoco se trata de pensar «mejor» que los demás o poder situarse en un cúmulo de percepciones intelectuales que finalmente nos desvían de la parte emocional
que cada uno conjuga dentro de sí. Se trata de fluir junto con esa energía que solo se obtiene a partir de estímulos particulares en cada persona, se trata de Sentir mas que de pensar.
Particularmente, a mi lo que me hace sentir vivo es la música: no encuentro palabras suficientes para describir la parte crítica en mi vida que ésta representa.

¡Año nuevo!

La verdad es que el 2012 fue una transición de una etapa bastante compleja (en el 2011 me despedí temporalmente de mi amado México), comenzar a adaptarme al hecho de vivir en Japón.

Tuvo muchísimos altibajos y podría decir que este verano ha sido uno de los más infelices que he vivido, pero las cosas tristes, supongo que las dejaré para otra ocasión en la que tenga el espíritu bajo, que bendito el karma, hoy no es así 🙂

«Pasó muy rápido» es lo que pensaba mientras me cepillaba los dientes para salir por la noche a celebrar al segundo templo más grande de Tokio: 明治神宮 (Meijijingu).

Me invitó una amiga japonesa que conocí en el club de salsa este año y que es ultra entusiasta del español, sobre todo el mexicano 🙂 Iría con Masa, otro amigo del club de salsa y karen, una amiga de ellos que nació en gringolandia, de padres mexicanos. También fueron otros dos amigos, un rumano y una alemana.

El caso es que llegamos a eso de las 10:30 y la verdad es que no había tanta gente esperando, pero después se llenó muchísimo el asunto y así, en medio de una fila de japoneses mezclados con muchos extranjeros, gente llorando (de felicidad, supongo) y un tipo con su nintendo DS, recibimos el año nuevo.

No siento algo especial este año en el cambio de periodo temporal, dado que sigo y seguiré en este mismo espacio por un año más al menos. Lo que sí es que quiero que sea un año más estable en muchos sentidos, sobre todo en el emocional. Estoy algo cansado de culparme por tantas cosas y por pensar que siempre soy yo el que le hace daño a la gente.

Pero bueno, también fue un año donde a pesar de no enloquecer con el japonés como en el 2011 con kanji, siento que también mejoró considerablemente por el hecho de que me he hecho muy fan de leer manga japonés, especialmente Slam Dunk.

También fue en marzo que regresé a México, después de haberme tenido que salir del dormitorio de manera definitiva y dejar mis cosas en casa de una querida amiga que muy amablemente les ofreció alojo mientras yo estaba ausente por el regreso al lugar donde pertenezco.

Fue un mes maravilloso donde pude ver a casi todos mis mejores amigos, tragar todo lo que quise e ir a conciertos inolvidables, vi a Opeth (que son lo más chingón que le ha pasado a esta existencia) 2 veces en el D.F. y a Björk en El Tajín, que queda bien cerquita de mi natal Poza Rica (Veracruz). Aparte a Björk la vi con dos de mis mejores amigos que más que amigos son como mis hermanos esos hijos de la chingada.

Este año que pasó también me enseñó a que debo ser más tolerante en ciertas cosas y en que debo cuidar mi boca al hablar para ciertas ocasiones. Creo que años atrás nunca hubiera entendido esto y es que siento de verdad que me vuelvo viejo (de pensamiento) a pasos agigantados, pero eso no creo que sea malo, en realidad la calma es lo que, muchos que no la tuvimos siendo más jóvenes, ansiamos con un hambre insaciable.

Pero bueno, también quiero decir que vi a Opeth en Japón (febrero) y estuvo de poca madre el concierto porque Mikael Åkerfeldt le «prestó» a la multitud su guitarra favorita para que le dieran una vuelta por el lugar del concierto y se la regresaran. Pinches japoneses aperradísimos con la guitarra quién los viera, pero ahh qué gloria fue ese momento donde pude tocar tal hermosa guitarra, posesión del genio musical más grande de esta era (en mi universo musical por supuesto).

También fui a kyoto después de 4 años, para reencontrarme con lugares tan hermosos y místicos como el 清水寺 Kiyomizudera o el　金閣寺 Kinkakuji que fueron una de las joyas que marcaron mi viaje por primera vez a Japón, repito, hace 4 años.

También este año fui al Museo de ghibli y K (una de mis mejores amigas en México) vino de visita a Japón y se quedó un mes conmigo. Tuvo sus altibajos pero la verdad es que en resumen, estuvo chingón conocerla aún más y tener una amistad más fuerte de la que teníamos. Como siempre, me dejó enseñanzas.

Fue un año de muchísima música, de muchos conciertos de bandas no tan afamadas japonesas pero con un talento increíble y de muchos momentos memorables, entre perdones, reencuentros, fiestas, baile, tomadera y demás.

Espero solamente que este año nos reciba con mucha salud que ahora mientras más crezco me doy cuenta de su importancia, y sobre todo de muchísima felicidad, tanto que haga que nuestro corazón implote.

Como mexicano, soy muy feliz, porque así es nuestra cultura, que a pesar de ser latigueada por tanto gobierno tan culero (que «elegimos»), nunca dejamos de reírnos de las situaciones o de tratar fraternalmente, en la mayoría de los casos, a nuestros semejantes. Especialmente en estas fechas.

Aquí en Tokio todo es más frío, como que muy solemne y muy poco vivo. Pero supongo que cada cultura le da su toque a las fechas. Solo me queda respetarlo, porque entenderlo, sí está cabrón.

pd: Esta canción me tiene muy trabado, creo que respira un amor infinito por la melancolía de un momento ya muy atrás en el tiempo. Aceptación.
